There isn’t a “right” way of wording your invitation. You may need to look at an invitation you received to a friend’s wedding and kind of put your own spin on it. There are many ways to word an invitation. We’re going to provide just a few examples, please feel free to use and adapt for your wedding.

You want to start the invitation out with Bismillah Ir-Rahman Ir-Rahim (In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful). You can put it in either arabic or english, or a combination of the two. It’s very important to begin with praising Allah (swt). You may also want to add a hadith or ayah from the Quran. It’s entirely up to you and your spouse-to-be’s preference.

Now the rest is very easy. There is no right or wrong, whether the bride’s name goes first or the date, or whichever.  Here are examples:

EXAMPLE 1:

You are invited to the marriage celebration of

[Bride/Groom’s name]

[Daughter/Son] of [Name] and [Name]

&

[Bride/Groom’s name]

[Daughter/son] of [Name] and [Name]

on

[Day of the week], [Month] [Day], [Year] at [Time of Event] [AM/PM]
